The President of Maldives has appointed the Minister of Finance and Public Enterprises, Mr. Hassan Zareer, as the President of the Local Government Authority. In accordance with Article 140 of the Constitution of the Republic of Maldives and Article 59 of the Decentralization Act, the President of Local Government Authority shall be accountable to the Parliament on behalf of the Authority.
