Sending-off ceremony held for the participants of the 10th Batch of the Capacity Building and Training of Members of Local Councils, Women Development Committees, and Staff of Local Government Authority New

A special sending-off ceremony was held for the participants of the 10th Batch of the Capacity Building and Training of Members of Local Councils, Women Development Committees, and Staff of Local Government Authority, conducted under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR), India, and the Local Government Authority (LGA).
The ceremony was graced by Mr. Kumar Gaurav, Deputy High Commissioner of India to the Maldives, and Mr. Mohamed Nimal, Chief Executive Officer of the Local Government Authority, who attended the function and delivered remarks to the participants.
The 10th batch of the training programme will be conducted from 4 January 2026 to 19 January 2026 in Hyderabad, India. The programme aims to enhance the institutional and operational capacities of local councils, while providing participants with firsthand exposure to India’s decentralization framework and best practices in local governance.
A total of 30 participants, including 29 representatives from island councils and one official from the Local Government Authority, will take part in this training program.
